Our Annual Kirby Road Conservation Reserve base camp is open for all members and prospective members. Kirby Road Reserve is a Sunshine Coast Council owned reserve that our club has been working on developing hiking tracks for a number of years using grant moneys received for that purpose.

At this point of time there are no permanent facilities - camping or toilets. Our Club applies for a permit from Council to conduct this camping weekend on the Reserve.

Access is via a graded unsealed road.

The weekend is mainly a social event.

However, on Saturday afternoon we plan to walk the Shingles track.

On Sunday we will walk from the Carpark to the escarpment and back.

For those who want to help with the setup come along on Friday morning.

Camping is open to everyone from Friday lunch onwards. The camp will finish Sunday afternoon.

You are welcome to camp either or both nights or just come for the day walks.

This will be a base camp and the Club will have the tarp shelter, BBQ. gas ring, lights and fire wood. Portable toilets have been hired for the event. There are no shower facilities. This is a remote site with no potable water. You will need to bring your own camping gear, food and drinks. A small table and chair would be advisable if you want to eat under the tarp.

IMPORTANT: THERE IS NO PHONE/INTERNET RECEPTION AT CAMP. THE ACCESS ROAD TO THE CAMP AREA FROM THE FRONT GATE IS NOT ALWAYS SUITABLE FOR LOW 2WD VEHICLES. ANY CAMPERS/DAY HIKERS THAT REQUIRE A LIFT FROM THE FRONT GATE TO THE CAMP SITE WILL NEED TO ADVISE ANTICIPATED ARRIVAL DAY/TIME ON THE ACTIVITY REGISTRATION SHEET

There will be separate registration sheets for both the Saturday and Sunday hikes.
