This will be a pleasant hike of about 6km return from the carpark to the Ubajee Outlook.

We will start the hike in daylight hours and make our way firstly to the Ubajee Walkers Camp where there is a toilet if anyone requires, then down to the Outlook where we will (hopefully) take in the last light (with drinks and nibbles) as it sets over the Range.

Official sunset is 5.05pm.

We will then don our headlamps and make our way along the same track back to the carpark. Walking with headlamps makes it feel like a completely different hike!

An easy hike with some gentle hills but flanked by towering trees, the sound of cockatoos, and a smattering of wildflowers along the way. One of my favourite short hikes.

There is some seating available at the outlook but it may be an idea to bring a chair just in case we need extra.

Mozzie spray is a good idea - there are no leeches but could be flying biters.

The track does have some muddy spots that we may need to negotiate - hopefully it will dry before the hike.

This walk will be postponed if it is raining/overcast or windy.

What to bring:
  • Backpack
  • Walking shoes/boots
  • Appropriate clothing to suit conditions
  • Sufficient water (minimum 2L)
  • Whistle
  • First aid kit
  • Insect repellent
  • HEADLAMP
  • Drink and nibblies to watch the sunset.
  • Chair could be handy
