The Yandina Wetlands, which is accessed via River Rd, off Yandina-Coolum Road, covers an area of approximately 125 hectares. It is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, with over 200 bird species recorded. It offers a peaceful retreat into the natural world, with the trail following the creek into Coolum Conservation Park through impressive scenery of swamps, lagoons and channels. Mosquitoes also love this area, so spray is important, particularly at this time of the year.

The walk is flat and easy and only 1.6 kms out and back. Our main focus will be on the birdlife, after which we can proceed to the Fairhill Nursery for morning tea, for those who are interested.
