Kirby's Reserve - Maleny National Park Reconnaissance Walk

SDW5C (see Walk Grades page) Members Only Limit 8 Bring gaiters,walking poles,morning tea/lunch,3 litres water The walk commences at the club shed at Kirbys Reserve. Mostly off track walking. After crossing a small creek we traverse uphill to the southwest through an open grass paddock before commencing the ascent to the ridge line,an easy uphill steep walk. After 20 minutes we are at the ridge where we follow the meandering steep ridge line entering Maleny National Park. This is a reconnaissance walk with 600 metres height gain and loss to investigate a possible connection from Kirbys Reserve to fire trails in Maleny National Park. This walk is nowhere near Maleny !
