Thursday 23 TO SUNDAY 26 OCTOBER

The camp is open to everyone, not just the kayakers. The plan is to camp three nights at Harry's Hut camping ground and go kayaking, hiking or just relax by the river.

You will need to organise your own 4WD transport (possibly an AWD but will depend on road conditions) to get to Harry's Hut. You will also need your own camping gear and be self sufficient during the stay. The non-powered campground has non-flush toilets and the sites are amongst paperbark trees and eucalypt woodlands on the banks of the upper Noosa River. We will set up a central area to cook with a gezabo, lights, tables and  some stoves.

The Club has booked the Education Camp site which should give us direct access to the kayak launch site. This is at the northern end of Harrys and near the second toilet block. As I get the numbers I can amend the booking. The cost is $7.50 a night and you can fix me up at the camp. If you want a little more privacy make your own booking and you can camp in the smalles sites.

For walkers, there are no organised hikes. But you may like to organise your own group to explore - there are a couple of good hikes nearby but will be weather dependent as the tracks can be boggy or flooded.

You can choose to stay as many nights as you like. You can find out more about the campground at https://parks.des.qld.gov.au/parks/cooloola/camping/harrys-river-access
