Easy Trail Maintenance Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk

The club is partnering with Qld National Parks and Wildlife to assist with maintenance of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk.

Bring morning tea and lunch appropriate clothing/footware for trail walking.

This day will be light trimming where vegetation has overgrown the track in places,remove small branches which may have fallen on the track,a Ranger may be in attendance to carry out any specialist work.

As a volunteer, you can expect to:
•    make connections with like-minded people and local QPWS Rangers,
•    gain hands-on experience with safe work methods and environmental management techniques,
•    learn about the different ecosystems and identify native and invasive species that exist along the Great Walk, and
•    enjoy being active outdoors and feel good about helping the environment.

What to bring:

Backpack
Walking shoes/boots
Appropriate clothing to suit conditions
Sufficient water (minimum 2L)
Whistle
First aid kit
Sunscreen
Hat
Insect repellent
