Meet at the HMAS Brisbane lookout, at Alex Headland, to start walking at 5:30pm.

We'll walk towards Mooloolaba spit for about 30min, then turn around and walk back to where we started. Depending on the speed of the group it will be a 3-5km walk. If the tide allows we might walk a section on the beach, but most likely we'll stick to the foot path for a flat, leisurely, early evening coastal walk.

Our walk will end back where we started on Alex headland, the moon should rise just after 6:30pm, it may take a while for us to see if it's behind the Point Cartwight Headland.

You're then invited make your way to the bbq's by the toilet block, where we will relax and enjoy a BYO drink and snacks or bbq dinner.

Those who are unable to join us for the walk are welcome to join us at this point, we should be back just after 6:30pm.

Parking spots at the Headland are limited so you might have to park along the road.

There are plenty of toilet blocks and water fountains along the walk  - so no need to carry alot of water.

If it's cloudy the walk will go ahead , will only cancel if it's raining.
