This hike is now FULL but you are welcome to put your name on the waiting list.

Lake Weyba is a large, shallow, salty lake which feeds into the Noosa River system. There are several creeks which are crossed by bridges. We walk through paper barks and long grasses on a track on the edge of the lake and along the fenceline of a property. It is a quiet, 6.6km return walk. After crossing Horsmans Creek on a 24 metre long suspension bridge, morning tea will be at the parklands on Lake Weya Drive.  Lake Weyba's name comes from the Gubbi Gubbi language meaning sting ray which can sometimes be seen in the lake. There are many bird species which fish in the lake  such as herons, cormorants, egrets and Brahminy Kites.

The lake's clear shallow water is ideal for a swim on a hot day.
