SDW5B (see Walk Grades page) ***FULL*** ************** Bring Morning Tea,lunch,2 to 3 litres water, hat, sun screen This is a relatively short walk and in the Blackall Range. Estimated walk time is 4 hrs, with a stop for morning tea and likely back at cars for lunch. The walk starts off Browns Creek Road Yandina. We follow a wide bush trail for a short time before a short easy descent to York Creek. We follow York Creek upstream for a short easy creek walk. We arrive at Lower York Falls and ascend an easy slab climb up beside the falls. From here we make our way upstream to the Middle and Upper Falls. To summit the falls requires a bit of scrambling but no exposure, good fun and a sense of achievement. We then follow up the banks of York Creek until we regain the stream. Mature Water Gums dominate this section. Rock hopping our way upstream we eventually come to an attractive spot for morning tea. The exit route is an old snigging trail where it crosses York Creek. From here we exit the creek and follow wide bush trails back to the cars. An easy introduction to creek walking. Meet Point from the traffic lights at the IGA Yandina turn into Old Gympie Road heading west Travel up the hill for a few minutes until reaching Cooloolabin Road ,turn left into Cooloolabin Road travel 600 metres, turn right into Browns Creek Road, travel 3 kilometres, park on left in the open area in the trees.
