The Kirby's annual camp will be on the weekend of the ninth to eleventh of June at the Kirby's Road Environmental Reserve, Obi Obi Valley. This event is open to members and prospective members.

To get to the property you turn off the Obi Obi Road on to Lower Suses Pocket Road and follow the gravel to the end at the gate. The internal road into the property is gravel with a steep hill. It may not be suitable for small front wheel drive cars. There is parking inside the gate and we can arrange to ferry you to the camp site.

You will need to bring your own camping gear, cutlery, food and drinks, chair, table and drinking water for the weekend.

The club will provide a covered central cooking area with a BBQ, gas rings, kettle washing up facilities including water and lighting. There will be a fire ring and firewood provided. There will be a portable toilet on site.

In the pas we have had a BBQ on Saturday. Maybe someone will do potatoes in the fire. Anyone up for doing a damper?

SCHEDULE

Friday 9/6

10.00am. For the early birds we will start the working bee to setup. If you are interested, can you please let me know?

Campers are welcome to come for Friday night but you will need to advise me.

Saturday 10/6

From 8.00am members arrive, set up camp.

Midday lunch

Guest speaker and a short walk with tree indentification.

3.00pm Possible short walk along some of the proposed tracks

Sunday 11/6

8.00am Non members meet at the gate for the planned walk

8.30am Walk to the Shingles Track (two to three hours)

Midday lunch

2.00pm Pack up

Base camping gear, tent, sleeping bag, mattress etc
All food for the weekend
