The first half of the walk ariound the National Park is about 7km with around 25m of elevation gain and loss, this is easy, but wet and / or muddy, along graded tracks if it has rained beforehand. Wear waterproof walking boots to be sure of not getting wet feet as you will not be able to avoid walking through the ankle-deep inundated tracks. We will walk through wet heathland, melaleuca forest, banksia woodland and scribbly gum forest. What wildflowers will be out will depend on the weather, but we should enjoy banksias, boronias, wattles, hakeas, native iris and lilies. The walk will be at a leisurely pace to seek out and enjoy the flowers. Morning tea will be had along the track.

The second half of the walk will be to explore the Lower Mooloolah River Environment Reserve along formed tracks and with little elevation change. I haven't  had a chance to check this out beforehand, but the aim is to access the river and have lunch in a pleasant spot before heading back to the car park.

Meet at National Park Car park at the southern end of Claymore Road, Sippy Downs. 26°43\'49.8\"S 153°05\'12.7\"E
