We will make our way towards Coolum State School and stroll along Stumers Creek to behind the Coolum Football Club.  We go through the Noosa National Park Peregian Section where some wild flowers should will be out. A small climb up to the top of Emu Mountain will give us a great view of the ocean, mountains and possibly whales making their way north. BYO morning tea and enjoy the view. We will head down the northern side of the mountain, cross over the David Low Way onto a boardwalk to the beach heading back towards the start point. We may get wet feet when passing through Stumers Creek on the beach. There are many cafes in Coolum if you'd like to have an early lunch before heading home.

Most of the hike is on well-formed tracks, including some concrete pathways. There are a couple of short sections on the ascent/descent of Emu Mountain where washouts have occurred or where there is a short section of rock to traverse (not scrambling).

What to bring:

  • Morning tea
  • 2 litres of water
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellent
  • First Aid Kit
