This is an easy walk on a disused rail line from Imbil to Brooloo and return, a total of 9km. There is not much shade. The trail passes near native forest, a hoop pine plantation and a bellbird habitat.

At the town of Imbil, turn left at the Railway Hotel, follow William Street to the end. The car park for the rail trail is close by on the left at Selwyn Street. On Sunday there is a street market at Imbil with lots of food available. Lunch can be either at the market or up at Borumba Dam, 12 km away, up Yabba Creek Road.

  • Backpack
  • Walking shoes/boots
  • Appropriate clothing to suit conditions
  • Sufficient water (minimum 2L)
