Lower Summer Creek Conondale National Park

MDW6C (see Walk Grades page) Members Only Limit 10 Bring morning tea,lunch minimum 2 litres water,swimmers,gaiters for part of the way A creek walk for experienced walkers. A short drive from Kenilworth to Charlie Moorland Camping Area. A 15 minute high clearance vehicle drive from Charlie Moorland Camping Area(meeting place)to Sunday Creek Road. Follow a fire trail for a kilometre or so before taking a steep off track line down a ridge to Summer Creek. Follow Summer Creek upstream rock hopping, negotiate creek crossings and around a few water falls. A swim in a pristine rock pool fed by a water fall it it’s hot enough! Morning tea before an easy clamber up the lower Summer Creek Falls, negotiate several rock pools and water falls. Lunch where we decide. From top of falls we scramble up a long narrow steep ridge to join the Great Walk track with views of the gorge and Summer Falls along the way. A short off track walk back to Sunday Creek Road with another short walk along Sunday creek road back to the cars.
