MDW2A (see Walk Grades page) Prospective Members Welcome Limit 15 Bring morning tea only if you don\'t want to purchase it; 2 litres water, hat and sunscreen if sunny, raincoat if not, insect spray Approx. 10 kms. This walk passes through predominantly Sclerophyll, Heathland or “Wallum” and also Wetland vegetation communities. It starts at Currimundi following the path which runs adjacent to Currimundi Creek. Then we turn left into Kawana Forest heading east adjacent to Meridan Plains on the left and then north towards Birtinya to the boardwalk. Further on we head south to rejoin the path at Currimundi after passing through Viridian Circuit Park. We continue along the concrete walking track until we reach another part of Kawana Forest and a turn off point leading to the unmarked track that goes through to join the track running adjacent to the Mooloolah River. This joins the wetlands boardwalk that exits close to Spotlight on Kawana Way. We\'ll stop for drinks/food at the Stocklands Birtinya Shopping Centre and then continue our walk behind the centre until we come to the entrance to Viridian Circuit Park again. Passing by the lake we\'ll rejoin the original path back to Sunjewel Boulevard to finish the walk. LOCATION TO MEET: Sunjewel Boulevard Environmental Reserve, Lakeside Crescent, Currimundi. Walk starts on the bend of this street adjacent to the lake, at the intersection of Rosea Court. Plenty of parking is available in this street.
