SDW3A (see Walk Grades page) Prospective Members Welcome Limit 15 Bring GPS if possible,water,sun protection,pen,paper,small backpack lunch and a portable chair Email fmrqld@gmail.com to book a place This training is aimed at people with limited to intermediate level naviga7on experience using a GNSS(GPS) device (GNSS – Global Naviga7on Satellite System) Part 1 Discussion covering (approx 1 hr): - Datums and map coordinates - GNSS (GPS) systems and devices - Using devices to aid naviga7on Part 2 PuMng it into prac7ce - Using a GNSS/GPS to navigate in Whites Hill Reserve. To get the best from the day it is suggested that you read (pages 10-17) Datums, Map Coordinates and GNSS in: hfps://d28rz98at9flks.cloudfront.net/102240/Map_reading_guide_v4.pdf If you have a GPS please check the manual on how to enter the coordinates of waypoints as devices differ. A file can be emailed to par7cipants prior to the event with the coordinates used for the exercise (Excel or .gpx format.
