Meet at the carpark

If you are coming from Mapleton, at the bottom of the hill you turn left onto a dirt road called Lower Suses Pocket Road, After about 500m you turn right onto Kirbys Road and you continue on a couple of kilometres to the gate.

Day walkers (including Prospective Members) are welcome to join the Kirby Road Base Campers for this hike.

The Escarpment track is one that the Club has been involved in building after receiving a grant from the Sunshine Coast Council to do so.

Come for a hike up the track to the Escarpment and return. We will pass boulders covered in ferns and epiphytes. It is only a short hike but the track zig zags up a hill and there are some steps (professionally placed by our track building team!) There will be photo opportunities and possibly some bird watching opportunities as well.

This is an area not yet regularly accessed by the general public so this is your chance to do so!

NB there are no public amenities on site. The only toilet available will be a portable toilet at the Base Camp site which is away from the carpark area.

Access is via a graded unsealed road. PLEASE RESPECT OUR NEIGHBOURS ON THIS ROAD BY DRIVING SLOWLY TO REDUCE DUST.
