Healthy Sunshine Coast - Trachyte Circuit via Jack Ferris Lookout and base of Mt Tibrogargan

This circuit gets its name from Trachyte Ridge and the type of rock which forms the volcanic peaks of the Glasshouse Mountains.

Total length is approximately 7.5klms. We begin by walking up to Jack Ferris Lookout which provides a wonderful view to Mt Tibrogargan along with views of other mountains.

Then we continue on a well formed track through several landscapes including pine forestry to riparian rainforest, open woodland and heathland. For nature lovers there should be wildflowers still in bloom and for bird lovers, grey faintails and red-browed finches.

A short section of the Tibrogargan Circuit has been added on as it provieds some great views of Tibrogargan itself. We will stop for morning tea along this circuit before heading back to our cars. There will be plenty of time to stop for photos and enjoy the views. Total time on the track will be around 3-3.5 hours.
