Bring morning tea and water, lunch back at the car, no need to carry lunch
We commence this walk at the Baroon Pocket Dam car park below the dam wall. We follow a good walking track for 500 metres to join Obi Obi Creek. We meander down stream following along the creek bank at times crossing from one side of the creek to the other including rock hopping.
Not long before we enter the water for a swim through the Obi Obi Gorge, a water fall drops from above to the rock pool we swim through. The walk continues mostly following the creek bank with swims though several large rock pools. The creek section of about 2.5 kms is all off track walk, You will need to be steady and agile on your feet for rock hopping and swimming
Hints
Rubber booties can be good for rock hopping and swimming or take off shoes at each swim section, not recommended to swim with shoes on or creek walk in bare feet, dry bag or similar to keep your gear dry, plastic rubbish bags can be used to keep gear somewhat dry although not the best method, dry bag inside your old back pack which can get wet, back pack will float with dry bag with some trapped air, shoes can sit on top of floating back pack
Wear suitable clothing to swim and walk the creek section without getting changed.
Bring minimal gear, you will be getting wet, carrying electronics not recommended, may need dry clothes to change after the creek section, It is about a 3.5 km undulating track walk back to the car park you can choose to walk back wet or dry
